Church History

A brief history of one of the oldest churches in Seattle

The Seattle RP congregation was established in the early 1890's, when the city was less than 40 years old. It was the first West Coast RP church, and has existed continuously since 1892. With the help of Joe Lamont, we are undertaking a project to document the history of this congregation as a testament to the sustaining hand of our Lord. We would greatly appreciate hearing from you if you have any documents, recollections or photographs that would contribute to this project.

Catechism: Question 104

Q: What do we pray for in the fourth petition?

A: In the fourth petition (which is, "Give us this day our daily bread") we pray, that of God's free gift we may receive a competent portion of the good things of this life, and enjoy His blessing with them. Matthew 6:11; Proverbs 30:8,9; Genesis 28:20; 1 Timothy 4:4,5.
