Church History

A brief history of one of the oldest churches in Seattle

The Seattle RP congregation was established in the early 1890's, when the city was less than 40 years old. It was the first West Coast RP church, and has existed continuously since 1892. With the help of Joe Lamont, we are undertaking a project to document the history of this congregation as a testament to the sustaining hand of our Lord. We would greatly appreciate hearing from you if you have any documents, recollections or photographs that would contribute to this project.

Catechism: Question 105

Q: What do we pray for in the fifth petition?

A: In the fifth petition (which is, "And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors") we pray, that God, for Christ's sake, would freely pardon all our sins; which we are the rather encouraged to ask, because by His grace we are enabled from the heart to forgive others. Matthew 6:12; 18:35; Psalm 51:1,2,7,9; Daniel 9:17,18,19; Luke 11:4.
