For a roulette system to work you must have a winning strategy. The only way to have a guaranteed method to win is to cover an entire board. Each chip has an equal chance to win, so the strategy is simple, but the effect of the system is highly variable. Each time the ball spins a little marker moves one placing from the previous number. The strategy tells you to bet on the second location of that marker that opens up another round of betting. If the ball continues to move in the same direction you would place your bet in the third location. The theory is that the ball will eventually drop into a pocket with all the numbers on it, and you would win based on probability.
The system works quite well, but it only works well if the ball can be thrown accurately. In fact, using this system is not really recommended to players who do not also play blackjack. The Martingale system is a betting system that is most often applied to roulette. It is not much different than the roulette system except that you double your bets when you lose, instead of half your bets when you lose. When you win, you go back to the initial bet you placed. If you lose, you double the bet you placed in the first round. The premise of the Martingale system is that you win eventually, and when you do, you will have recovered your losses as well as the original bet you made. For example, a $1 bet on red needs to turn into $2 by the next spin. If you are on the red track, you hit the $1 bet, which pays off (where you lose if it doesn’t), and you recuperate your original bet. In this system, you can lose only one round while you recuperate, but can win up to three rounds while you are waiting for the ball to lose.
While the roulette 7 system is definitely not recommended for players who want to win a lot of money, the low house advantage makes it profitable in the long run. Also, while the strategy may not work if the wheel is not random with the little gaps between numbers, each number is still assigned a number so you can still have some success while waiting for the wheel to be completely random.
